If you happen to be part of the ocean science community and you’re in Lisbon, Portugal this week, then you’re most likely at the UN Ocean Conference 2022. If you’re an ocean scientist in Lisbon this week and you’re not at the conference, well… you’re probably missing a trick. The JERICO-RI partners are of course there this week with the JERICO-DAYS conference from 28th - 30th June 2022 at the Hydrographic Institute, where they will be discussing topics ranging from ‘outreach and strategy’ to ‘technology, access and services’.
The JERICO-RI is an integrated pan-European multidisciplinary and multi-platform research infrastructure dedicated to a holistic appraisal of coastal marine system changes. That might sound like a mouthful, but in-short it’s a world-leading framework for ocean monitoring.
This week, we’re showing off a dizzying array of posters and roller banners dedicated to explaining the key messages and objectives of the JERICO-RI project and we’ve even got tote bag swag (totes recycled and great for grocery shopping) up for grabs.
“The composition of the posters needed to be informative and accessible to both project partners and the public, cutting to the chase to convey the essential meanings and objectives of the JERICO-RI project”.
Whilst a lot of what we do is unabashedly digital these days (we try our level best not to print things unnecessarily), it’s still necessary to produce physical assets for conferences such as this as they are a rare opportunity for international partners to get together, focus their minds and get things done. Fizzee will be there in person this week, listening carefully and saying our piece, to make sure that the JERICO-RI continues to do groundbreaking work in monitoring our coastal marine systems.
